ShoutOut adheres to the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Natural Persons with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the Free Movement of Such Data (General Data Protection Regulation) (“GDPR”) and complies with its obligations thereunder.

ShoutOut recognises the importance of protecting your personal information. We wouldn’t want anyone to unlawfully use our personal information, so we take protecting yours very seriously. We maintain the following privacy policy:

  1. We gather the following types of personal data:

    1.1 Information you provide to us: If you are a supporter, subscriber, donor, volunteer, employee, trustee, director or person who contacts ShoutOut in relation to any matter or are someone who interacts with our social media profiles, you will have provided certain personal data directly to us.

    1.2. Information provided to us by Schools / Colleges / Institutions / Other Organisations: As a result of our work with a variety of entities, including the above, we will be provided with personal data of individuals connected with those entities, which may include including but not limited to names, addresses, personal contact details, etc.

    1.3. Information gathered in connection with and at activities, functions, meetings and events or through questionnaires and surveys: While engaging with our volunteers or personnel, you may have given us your personal information. This may include allowing us to take your photograph at an activity, function, meeting or event, or you may have given your details in conjunction with same, or those details were otherwise gathered in connection with the activity, function, meeting or event or through a questionnaire or survey.

    1.4. Consumption of emails we send: When we send email newsletters to those people that have opted in to receive them, we may track who opened these emails as well as who clicked on any of the links placed within the newsletter. We may do this to measure what information our email newsletter recipients find valuable in hopes of providing the type of content that a recipient would like to see in the future.

  2. We use this data to do the following:

    2.1. Contact people and entities to inform them about and promote our services, operations and/or organisation;

    2.2. Contact people and entities in an effort to raise finance to support our services, operations and organisation;

    2.3. Provide our services, in particular through contacting our volunteers, customers and entities we work with;

    2.4. Obtain feedback on our services, communications, activities, functions, meetings and/or events;

    2.5. Provide feedback in relation to our services, including by the preparation of an Annual Report as required by the Charities Regulatory Authority. Please note that all personal data is anonymised before it is collated for presentation in any Report produced for publication by ShoutOut;

    2.6. Further and achieve ShoutOut’s aims and objectives. This may be by enabling greater focus in our communication with individuals and/or entities, and/or by publication regarding questionnaires, surveys, activities, functions and/or events, or by the archiving of material relating to and/or promoting ShoutOut and/or its services, operation or organisation;

    2.7. Track the aggregated use of our website and other resources in order to make improvements to the content and structure of our site;

    2.8. Track the behaviour of those following us on social media to provide content that is more interesting to our audience.

  3. Save as set out above, we do not make available, share, sell or trade your contact information without your consent. We may use your contact information to communicate with you or send you content that you’ve requested, but we will not provide your information to a third party without first obtaining permission directly from you in writing, on the phone or in person.

  4. We do not actively or passively collect, maintain or otherwise process data relating to minors.

  5. Any credit information you provide us will be used solely for transactions that you’ve approved. We will never sell, share or provide any of your credit information to any third parties except in the case where we make a purchase on your behalf, in which case we’ll get your approval prior to purchase. We will never use your credit information to make any unapproved purchases.

  6. We may use cookies to provide you with a more seamless experience when using our website. For instance, we may display specific information to a user that has never visited our site before. Once the new user closes the information, we may use a cookie to help ensure they don’t see that message the next time they visit the ShoutOut website.

  7. We maintain security procedures and standards that we believe are safe and secure. If you believe there is a fault in our security standards, please email dataprotection@shoutout.ie.

  8. From time to time we may update this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to do so when we see fit. Please check periodically to make sure you know our current policies. By using our website and services, you’re agreeing to the policies outlined on this page.
